Our new butterfly garden is a free roaming 1/2 acre detailed outline of the zebra longwing butterfly. There are 12 sections in it with over 1500 mostly native plants to entice butterflies and hummingbirds. In just one day the North American Butterfly Association (NABA) officially counted 267 butterflies representing 46 species of the 60 species found in our area! Butterflies are beautiful, but they are by no means the only residents in this house. Butterflies such as the eastern tiger swallowtails live among other species such as luna and cecropia moths. The 30-by-55-foot structure duplicates the natural environment of the region.
